Olivia's Landing

Written for grades 1-2, this original illustrated story features a ladybug who lands on a computer mouse. She follows the wires and discovers "process." Created using Cast UDL software, it features writing prompts throughout, asking questions, offering assistance and modeling responses.

Character Quips on Trading Cards

Here's a lesson plan using Flickr Tools from BigHugeLabs. Students create trading cards of characters from the novel Animal Farm. They choose a picture from the Fiberglass Public Art on Parade group and write short raps to describe the character. Trading cards can then be saved and/or printed locally.

ELA: Black History Quotation Project

In this unit students connect to a quote from a notable historical figure, research, write and create a postcard.
