Picture

Technology advances are constantly changing our society and how we do things. Instructional practices are no exception. To that end, these pages present and support some of my own lessons, units and workshops.

Jeopardy! for PowerPoint

The ever-popular Jeopardy! game in an easy-to-edit PowerPoint format makes great use of whiteboards. Perhaps students can write some of the questions as an assignment.  Click here for more.

Lessons Plans and Tools for Integrating Technology into Education

Lesson plans and activities are divided into major subject areas. But just like life, most cross boundaries into other subject areas as well. There's also a section here of academic commentary and scholarly exercises. During the course of my studies at NYIT (New York Institute of Technology) my educational technology research projects focused on ICT's, information and communication technologies, and blogging in particular.

STEM Science & Technology Workshops

Here are agendas, activities, links for two weeks of all-day STEM workshops (2008). Concentrating on the physical sciences, topics include plate tectonics, earthquakes, volcanoes, water, our solar system,  forces, simple machines and energy systems. All workshops included hands-on activities, scientific learning, Internet resources and a touch of mathematics and scaled for teachers from elementary to high school.

Promoting Collaboration in Education

I love to advocate for learning new technologies. One reason why, is the great potential these tools hold for cooperation and collaboration. Personally I feel that it is increasingly necessary for all of us to learn to master these skills because with  7 billion people on our planet, we need to get along a lot better than we have in the past. These skills can help us do that. As educators we have a unique opportunity to cross political bondaries for educational purposes. I advocate that we try to provide these opportunities for our students. I-earn is a great resource for stating on that journey.
